The introduction to the round baler market happened for Claas in 1976 with the baler ‘Rollant’. However, the first developments in this area were undertaken in 1921. At that time the first patent was registered for the so-called ‘Knoter’. This later became a cornerstone for the production of balers. At the end of the 80’s, shortly after the introduction of the ‘Rollant’, Claas introduced the ‘Quadrant’ onto the market. The ‘Quadrant’ was a bestseller and for a long time the market leader, which forced the market competitors to act. Claas currently has 5 round balers and 6 square balers in its product range.
