Massey Ferguson
The Massey Ferguson Company
The origins of the company were founded in 1847. At that time, as a repair workshop for agricultural machinery, founded by the experienced farmer Daniel Massey near Toronto in Canada, Massey Ferguson has undergone numerous further developments and expansions to date. The established manufacturer of agricultural machinery owes this not least to two other people who still stand for the Massey Ferguson brand: Alanson Harris and Harry Ferguson. Initially these were competing companies, both Daniel Massey's son and Alanson Harris specialized in the production and shipping of agricultural equipment. So far, Massey's company has achieved worldwide success, first in export and later in manufacturing. In 1891, Massey's company - the Massey Manufacturing Company - eventually merged with Harris's A. A. Harris and Son Implement ”. Under the name "Massey-Harris Company Limited", the production was expanded in the next few years and more offices were set up all over North America.
Massey Ferguson became what it is today when Harry George Ferguson, the eponymous namesake, joined in 1953. Ferguson was the inventor of three-point hydraulics and specialized in the improvement of tractors. Five years after the said merger with Harry Ferguson Limited, the company was finally renamed Massey Ferguson Company. The now well-known Massey Ferguson logo, on which three triangles are shown, was used slightly modified from 1958. Between 1955 and 1985 there were nine acquisitions by the Massey Ferguson Company. The main purpose of these was to increase their reach worldwide and to expand their own product portfolio in order to meet the steadily increasing demand Integration into the AGCO Corporation
In 1994 Massey Ferguson was incorporated into the AGCO Corporation. The multi-million dollar investments in the latest Massey Ferguson production facilities in France, Italy, Brazil and the USA meet the high quality standards that Massey Ferguson has set itself. For example, Massey Ferguson agricultural machines, which have more than 100 bhp, have been equipped with powerful AGCO Power motors since 2010. In addition, Massey Ferguson tractors mostly use continuously variable transmissions that offer high performance with low fuel consumption.
Massey Ferguson Agricultural Engineering
The Massey Ferguson combine harvester range includes five series with engine outputs between 176 and 496 bhp and PowerFlow header. In the tractor department, Massey Ferguson offers a selection of over ten different series. The smallest tractor, the MF 1500, is available from 19.5 BHP; the largest tractor, the MF 8700, on the other hand, impresses with up to 400 bhp, a displacement of a remarkable 8.4 liters, a panoramic cabin and a rear lifting capacity of up to 12,000 kg.
